Ken Gargett Posted December 30, 2011 Posted December 30, 2011 greetingshappy new year etc. the one bright spot in the entire crappy christmas has been the arrival (although way way late thanks to the idiots at amazon uk) of the latest bruce. ‘live at the main point, 1975’. have not had a chance to listen to it all yet but what i have heard is fabulous. double cd. given that the hammersmith live concert is also ‘75, this seems much ‘earlier’, much rawer. but it is terrific. some covers, including dylan’s ‘i want you’, some oldies. includes a song called ‘wings for wheels’ which later became ‘thunder road’. originally, it wasn’t 'mary’s dress waving', it was 'angelina’s dress waving'. wonder what angelina did wrong? and most of the lyrics are completely different – touch more car related – but could easily have been included. anyway, have a great new year and the sooner it is all over the better.
