It's been a while since I have reviewed a cigar. I figured that I'd share something that I have few of...the LFDC Short Robusto Reino Unido Regional Release. Pictures forthcoming...

Construction is great, appearance is very good. Personally, I get a little more hyped up if the wrapper is oily, this one looks dry. Pre light draw is perfect. Aroma at cold is a sweet floral, like honeysuckle. Cold draw is delicious. Sweet tobacco with a touch of floral sweetness. You could keep drawing cold and enjoy it.

Bringing a soft flame to the foot, and the first half is under way. Opens just under medium with sweet tobacco that is light, crisp and refreshing. The finish is quick, but a sweetness remains on the tongue, it makes your mouth water. The smoke is velvety. Body is hovering between light to medium (at most).

The second half gets a little darker and the body is closer to medium. Lost that velvel feel. After the RE band, it shifts to a lighter body, and some floral-fruity sweetness comes through. Burn is a little wonky. Velvel texture ramps up, along with some more body and heavy sweet fruit juice flavor. Down to the nub and the sweet fruit juice flavor is stronger. Take a bowl of fresh mixed fruit salad, and sip the juice at the bottom of the bowl. For me, this is the best part of the cigar thus far.

Conclusion - This is an interesting short format cigar. Because of it's size, I gave it alot of attention. Smoke it slow and deliberately, and it is a good change of pace. Quite different than my steady diet of Bolivar, Partagas, Upmann, Monte and Juan Lopez. If you are looking for a big bang smoke, choose something different. I would enjoy this most as a mid day smoke to get the most flavor and enjoyment. Recommended for those who enjoy a lighter smoke with an interesting set of flavors. As it stands, this is a very good regional release. I would pick up a box if they became regular production, but the steep price of the RE and the size, make it less attractive for a box purchase. Score: 89

Thanks for the review-they sound interesting. Although, the size and price kinda puts me off. Like you said, regular production. Get that second band off and make them cheaper. Must not take long to smoke down to that RE band... :D

Mike...thanks for the review buddy. I'm looking forward to smoking the FdC you sent me over Thanksgiving. Now I'll know what to look for...
