gigabyte056 Posted October 21, 2011 Posted October 21, 2011 As you may know Gilad Shalit was finally released from captivity after 1941 days. to celebrate this occasion I choose to drink a 2006 wine made by the dalton vinyard not far from his home village. also smoked a Cohiba 2006 el pyramida , I have had this box in waiting for the past 4 years. enjoyed both immensly, the wine was amazing and the cigar a solid 94. cheers, Guy
TankerT Posted October 21, 2011 Posted October 21, 2011 No matter what your politics, you have to admit, any time a Prisoner of War is returned to his/her family, it is a cause to celebrate. I was certainly fascinated by his story. As a former soldier, I can't even imagine being a captive for 5 years with no contact from my family. Sounds like you made some tasty choices to celebrate. I hope Sergeant Shalit is able to adjust back to a normal life.
davidl Posted October 22, 2011 Posted October 22, 2011 Indeed Tuesday, the day of his release, was a very emotional and joyous day for most of us here in Israel and many worldwide. I am glad you celebrated appropriately :-)
