Ken Gargett Posted September 25, 2011 Posted September 25, 2011 i know that could be applied to most sports today, sadly (who really believes that any result in any international cricket is absolutely untainted? - and i mean that from all the teams). but to hear that utter disgrace greg mccallum from the nrl try and justify allowing steve matai to escape charges from driving in with his knees to a bloke on the ground is a new low. not that mccallum has ever had any respect from qlders from his days as a ref but he must think fans are complete fools. and david gallop is no better. as flagged in a seperate post the other day, both manly players are free to play in the final. big surprise. good luck to them but it shows the nrl as completely bereft of the slightest intergrity and honesty. i am not a fan of either manly or the kiwis but i have not missed a final in decades. this week, i'm going fishing. i could make the effort to go a mile up the road and watch it after fishing but i won't. after the taylor/uate crap earlier this year, and many previous examples, i have zero interest. i would much rather watch the aussie rules final - and the lions didn't even make the semis. that is what you blokes have done - driven a lifelong fan away from the finals. not that you'll care. i thought that gallop, when he took over, seemed to be a decent bloke trying hard to do a tough job. now, i think i was massively mistaken or he has simply given up. does anyone really believe that if matai was a storm or a broncos player, that he would not have been rubbed out? tallis once got three weeks because one moron on the judiciary said, and i believe i quote correctly, 'we could see the intent in his eyes'. what crap. gallop and mccallum should go immediately but then blokes with no respect, no honesty and no integrity rarely do the right thing. just look at politicians.
