Mag 46 review lag jun 10 hq

hams008.jpg

heya sorry if this is porrly writtend had to written it up from some roughparty notes firstly I will admit this after arriving I accidently held this bunch of cigars the wrong well and this one out of the bundle hence the damage witch I had to repair so discounting that this stick hand a very nice appearance worthy of a hq stick

1st third

This cigar’s started out with cream in the first quickly followed by milk chocolate which then evolved in to what I call a milk chocolate cookie characteristic this was followed by just plain milk with an typical upmann hint of vanilla this then quickly progressed into a milk coffee which progressed in to a fuller bodied coffee with a hint of sweet spice with a return of the vanilla slightly followed by a dose of chocolate

2nd third

The second third saw a return of the of the milk which then changed slightly into cream and remained the same for the rest of the second third there after remind pretty linear

3rd third the start of the final third saw a bit more evolution but mostly on the same lines with the exception of a ceader flavour the final third was ceader followed by dark coffee milk chocolate cream followed by a hint of ginger with a dark coffee and milk chocolate finish

Overall this cigar delivered exactly what I expected for an h upmann 46 however the second third showed that the cigar is still young as this is from a twenty five box I plan to divide the cab in two smoke a few this autumn up to next summer and keep the other half of the cab for long term aging my final rating would be 89.5 ywp

One of my faves - thanks for the review.

On a purely personal note, I'm still not used to the second band. And though you can't always tell from pics, I like the look of the

wrapper - nice colorado, and not the dark and rough seen an awful lot as of late on many cigars.

Ross I can't get used to the change of the first band let alone the addition of the second band. I loved the old school upmann brown band. Though of course it wont stop me from buying mag 46's I'll just ***** about it and you all will be my sounding board. Thanks :)

Same here - still smoking brown bands, and the "new" bands on these and SWs just seem a little..... odd.

Great review and description of the flavors. These have been very good of late. My problem is that I can't seem to age them.

GREAT CIGARS! I've been smoking some 08's that are incredible. Sitting on a box of 2010's as well that look and smell fantastic.

Wonderful review, thanks for it. I just grabbed the Mag 46's from the psp here and can't wait !! I actually split the lot with my son, I have to say, sitting on the porch, lighting a beautiful cigar up and talking with my son is a pleasure of my life.
