AlexOk Posted September 19, 2011 Posted September 19, 2011 Romeo y Julieta - Fabulosos No. 6 from the Habanos-Collection-Humidor of 2004 RG 50 (19,8 mm) Length 180 mm Cold-smell Very spicy cold-smell. Aromatic wood like cedar, sandalwood and pine. Somewhat fruity orange and menthol. Burning On the first 2 cm misalignment of fire, then an exemplary, even combustion. Ash Very solid ash, light gray with a closed surface. Aroma/taste For a better description of the development of flavors, I switch from classical division into three sections to a subdivision into five sections. 1. fifth: Contrary to the spicy cold-smell the cigar starts very mild, but aromatic. The smoke is creamy and velvety. Milkchocolate and caramel candy flavor in a frame of peeled almonds and vanilla. 2. fifth: After the soft launch is the impression is creamy but slightly spicy with aromas of incense and balsa. This impression is complemented by herbs (parsley) and green pepper. 3. fifth: Towards the middle, the mild cigar is increasingly earthy. I sense something like "sweet grass" (no hash!). Very complex aromas. 4. fifth: The next section is a little stronger and slightly salty. Dry on the palate with tart flavors of green walnut and oak. But at the same time still creamy. 5. fifth: After a stronger interlude, the cigar is velvety and aromatic again. Clearly nutty of toasted hazelnut and black pepper. The final is completed with fresh mint aromas.
Tarks Posted September 19, 2011 Posted September 19, 2011 Nice review! Always wanted to try one of these. When you talk about the spice, is this through the nose? Or on the tongue? I really enjoy cigars that have that "young" bite on the retro. Thanks.
AlexOk Posted September 20, 2011 Author Posted September 20, 2011 When you talk about the spice, is this through the nose? Or on the tongue? I really enjoy cigars that have that "young" bite on the retro. Thanks. The sensation of flavor is a mix of both. For the most part, the perception of flavors takes place on the tongue and retronasal. By retrohaling the smoke, the cigar is also very mild. One of the most gentle Cubans I've smoked. Realy a great cigar. Just what I'm looking for in a great cigar, parsley and green pepper! As an hobby chef you ever come to such impressions. I kid, nice review. I'll be honest and say that I'm jealous of your palate! Thank you.
