danclough Posted September 15, 2011 Posted September 15, 2011 I took note of this thread: http://www.friendsofhabanos.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=106962&st=0&p=243282&hl=+highest%20+rate&fromsearch=1entry243282, and decided to purchase some Trinidad Reyes. They arrived today (en route for about 10 days). After grinding out some late night programming (computer geek), I decided to unwind with a Boulevard Dark Truth (http://www.ratebeer.com/beer/boulevard-dark-truth-stout/116044/) and a newly arrived Trinidad Reyes. I'm usually one of those guys who says cigars need about 4 weeks in the humidor to acclimate before they're optimum, but I thought, well I've only got about 30 minutes, so I'll try one and see what it's all about. If it's crappy, no big deal at least I've got a good beer. Holy crap did those little Trini's exceed expectations. I ended up nubbing that little S.O.B., and now think that's the small smoke to beat. I usually go for an H. Upmann 48 LE when I want a small smoke, but I think these Trini's beat it hands down. And with no time at all in the humidor! Needless to say every cigar above and near it on the list is on my short list of cigars to try. To all the Trinidad Reyes fans out there...I get it. That is a spectacular little smoke. Especially when it's a Czar HQ.
riazp Posted September 15, 2011 Posted September 15, 2011 the Reyes is a fantastic cigar, I love the flavor profile. I just dont like the fact its in the same price range as the siglo I. The HQ Reyes is actually on my short term buy list for october...hopefully they will show up in furute LFTH.
DblToro Posted September 15, 2011 Posted September 15, 2011 Smoked 2 out of 12 box count, very nice cigar with a different type of flavor profile. A bit pricey and short, but none the less as you say right off the truck, fantastic smoke.
