DrunkenMonkey Posted August 9, 2011 Posted August 9, 2011 It's time for the second annual Friends of Habanos Fantasy Football League to begin. Last year, our inaugural season, was a lot of fun. If you have interest, please consider joining us. Here’s how it works: Buy-in is $100. Money for teams is sent to Lisa. Prizes are in cigar orders from Czar. Payout will be determined once we know who’s in, how much money there is, and then we'll decide together on the payout. Last year we had 8 guys, and the regular season winner got $200 and the overall winner got $600. Scoring was that of a standard league. So if you’re interested, send me a PM. I’ll invite you through the ESPN site, and you can join us.

Scoring last year was: 6pts for rushing/receiving TD 4pts for passing TD 1 pt. for each 10 yds rushing/receiving 1 pt. for each 25 yds passing also there were points for K and team DEF. Anyway, there may be changes to the scoring for this year, but it's something we'll need everyone's input on, so nothing can be nailed down until we have everyone signed up. So all are welcome; please join us. The way to do that is to send a PM to me here on FoH, and in that message give me your email address, and I'll send you an invite through the ESPN website.

Interested but will need to know the above before I can commit. So the draft is an online live draft. The ESPN site randomly picks the draft order one hour before the start of the draft. The draft is a snake draft (1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1-1-2..) And as for the time of the draft, we won't schedule it until we have everyone signed up. So I can guarantee that you'll be able to make the draft; we won't pick a time unless everyone can do it. It will be as close to the first game as everyone can do.

We haven't heard from everyone yet, so we may still need to change it, but based on the initial discussion I signed us up for Sunday, September 4, at 9pm New York time. But again, that's just sort of provisional thing until we've heard from all the guys. Please go to the league site and reply to the discussion thread, and we'll make sure we have a date/time we can all do. And by the way, we still do have room for one more player, to make it an even number. If we don't get an even number, the last person to get Lisa his money will be dropped. So if you're reading this and thinking about joining us, Please do. PM me.

Lisa will hang on to the money, and after the season is done the winner(s) will have that amount to spend on whatever cigars his heart desires.
