pinotguy Posted July 26, 2011 Posted July 26, 2011 Folks, I just saw where Habanos SA is introducing a new, smaller seal that will be used in conjunction with the larger one (that incorporates the hologram). Supposedly, this is being called a "Transit" seal and will be applied to boxes/cabinets at the various factories before they are transported to the central warehousing facility in Havana. It will also serve as another preventative measure against counterfeiting and "gray-market" trading. Can anyone here shed some more light on this? When will Habanos SA begin using this new seal? If possible, I'd like to see some photos of the seal and how it will be applied to boxes/cabs. Thanks in advance.
Habano Posted July 26, 2011 Posted July 26, 2011 This is good news. Just means added security to keep the fake sticks away.
cigcars Posted July 27, 2011 Posted July 27, 2011 ...so I wonder when it will appear on the newest released boxes??
j0z3r Posted July 27, 2011 Posted July 27, 2011 This is good news. Just means added security to keep the fake sticks away. One would like to hope, but...you build a better mousetrap, and all you get is a smarter mouse. As long as there is money to be made in the counterfeit game, they will adapt to new measures. Let's hope it puts the fake makers off their game for a little while at least.
Fuzz AI Posted July 27, 2011 Posted July 27, 2011 ...so I wonder when it will appear on the newest released boxes?? We should start seeing them on the new boxes about 5-6 mths after you see them on the glass top boxes!
El Presidente Posted July 27, 2011 Posted July 27, 2011 If it is what I saw at the warehouse on a few new boxes it is a joke. Will take a photo of the next one I come across.
