BobKincaid Posted July 3, 2011 Posted July 3, 2011 Just taking a moment from my leisurely Sunday to offer a recommendation and some remarks on a magnificent smoke. I got this box from the Czar and the consistency has thusfar been outstanding. They've all burned well, drawn well and displayed excellent construction. If this is a non-PSP/HQ, I can only imagine what those exemplars must be like. This is, indeed, a potent offering among CCs. I had misgivings about firing one up so early in the day, but the day itself felt right, the sun high in the sky, not a cloud to be seen, and nothing else in the humi was particularly speaking to me, neither NC or CC. Thus, I fired one up. Wow! Over the years, I've read the various reviews in which people described "the flavor of my Aunt Mathilda's lingonberry pie emerging from a wood-fired oven in Vermont on a westward facing hillside," and such like. Since I didn't know Aunt Mathilda, had never had her lingonberry pie or been to Vermont, the reviews left me cold. As this Boli CE worked its way down, however, there it was, bread-and-butter. Unmistakable. A tiny bit of a trace of wine. And over there! Yes, it is! Chile! And a little bit of earth. I begin to understand what Rob, Smithy, Ken and the other occasional visitors to the porch in Brissy are talking about. The flavors really ARE there, even if Aunt Mathilda isn't. A good cigar should elevate and enhance a good moment in life. Such has been the case with this cigar on this day. I heartily recommend these to you all and extend to the FOH/Czar gang my thanks for a delightful day!
BobKincaid Posted July 3, 2011 Author Posted July 3, 2011 Great notes on one of my faves Thanks, Colt! I'm still blissing over it. It's sorta made tough-sledding for whatever I choose to take for a walk down to my thinkin' spot. Today is two-cigar nice.
CaptainQuintero Posted July 3, 2011 Posted July 3, 2011 Sounds awesome! I've always thought boli are all leather and earth, it's nice to see that I'm wrongt!
BobKincaid Posted July 3, 2011 Author Posted July 3, 2011 Sounds awesome! I've always thought boli are all leather and earth, it's nice to see that I'm wrongt! That's the trick: you're NOT wrong. All these reviews are, by definition, the epitome of subjectivity. Now that I've got a few CCs on hand, I keep getting hit by little epiphanies: bread-and-butter today, but raisins on others. I can honestly say I've never experienced them with Dominicans, Nicaraguans or Hondurans. And Happy Birthday to you!

Thanks I do forget about taste being subjective a lot, I also have slightly odd tastes too. I've tried half a dozen Boli petit belicosos and never once got any chocolate lol
jesseo81 Posted July 4, 2011 Posted July 4, 2011 Thanks for sharing this. I've got a box of the Boli CEs with the exact same box code that I have yet to sample out of--I'll have to give one a shot!
