Havana, Cuba, June 14.- Over 500 economists from some 25 nations will begin in this capital on Tuesday their debates on accountancy, audit and finances, as part of the 7th International Meeting on these branches of science.

The event will run until Thursday at Havana’s Convention Center, where pre-congress courses on internal control and consolidation of financial statements were held on Monday prior to the official inauguration slated for Tuesday afternoon.

According to the program, in addition to debates on topics like cost management, business and public finances, commercial banks, cooperatives and saving credits, others referred to international finances and public administration will also be discussed.

The 1st Meeting on Public Administration for Development will take place along with the 7th International Meeting on Accountancy, Audit and Finances.

Convened by the National Association of Economists and Accountants of Cuba (ANEC), participants in the two events, coming from Mexico, Venezuela, Argentina, Colombia, the Dominican Republic, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Chile and Spain, among other countries, will share their experiences in working commissions.

The Organizing Committee also announced that there will be keynote lectures, among which we find the ones entitled “Cuba’s challenges in the face of the harmonization of its accountancy regulations with international standards,” in charge of Jose Carlos del Toro, director of Accountancy Policies of the Ministry of Finances and Prices, and “Impacts of the financial crisis in Latin America: main considerations for discussion,” by Argentineans Flavio Buchieri, Nestor Perticarri and Tomas Mancha.

Although the event favors the attendance of economists, accountants and audits, entrepreneurs and international organizations will also have the opportunity to hold exchanges with them. (acn).
