Ken Gargett Posted June 13, 2011 Posted June 13, 2011 now, not that i am ever one to rub salt, and yes, this has been done to death but i could not help but mention a moment from the blues crusaders game - this was a game that was absolutely crucial for where they finished on the table for semi spots etc (and regular readers will remember the bleating that followed a recent qld reds victory over the crusaders, which was apparently entirely due to the ref, and had nothing to do with qld actually scoring more points than the opposition). first try to the crusaders (who ended up winning very narrowly and hence this was a pivotal moment in the season), came from well out when they pinched the ball from the back of a blues scrum and took it down field for a try. it was a clear penalty to the blues but missed by the ref. commentator, justin marshall (formerly a crusaders player - and well remembered as one of the greatest whingers ever to play the game, apparently under some illusion that opposition players were not allowed to tackle him without conceeding a penalty, tho he not a bad half, as well) - "yes, it should have been a penalty to the blues but the ref missed it so it doesn't count and it is a great try". yes, folks, the same mob that bleated and whinged and moaned and cried foul when they thought a decision went against them in the game against qld, now thinks it is fine if it goes their way? or did i miss something ? i could mention that this highlights 30 years of hypocrisy over the underarm ball incident, but we'll save that for another time. and on a serious note, best wishes to everyone in christchurch after this last tragedy.
benjaminbbush Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 Did not understand much of this but it seems that a group of fans are applauding the very same bad officiating that they complained about at some point in the recent past. If I am off base, then that is simply additional proof that I do not understand this language called Rugby. i do not understand the languages called Cricket or NASCAR either though.

NASCAR is easy: turn left, go straight, repeat, but do it faster this time... Love it.
