Vortigan Posted June 3, 2011 Posted June 3, 2011 The first cigar out of my new and first Czar order.Firstly,a beautiful thing to look at.Perfectly constructed,a wonderful chocolate coloured wrapper with a lovely, oily sheen. It really did look good enough to eat! Sweet and mild pre-light flavours. The first third was a very mild and light bodied smoke with an absolute multitude of flavours coming through, sweet coffee, cream, some chocolate and vanilla in there also and much more besides I'm sure, just so full of flavour.Into the second third and it developed very markedly into much more defined woody, leather and spice flavours with just a slight peppery finish. The final third and not so spicy anymore, definitely medium bodied and the sweetness is back with those truly wonderful toasted Cuban tobacco flavours.A thick and very chewy smoke and the aroma coming off this cigar has been absolutely magnificent the whole way down, and a perfect combustion.I'm sure there has been so much more in this cigar that I've not been able to define, especially in the final third. This has been a really wonderful smoke and a great way to spend the best part of a couple of hours on an early weekend afternoon. My own personal experience with cigars has been that the one I smoke ROTB upon delivery usually gives me a pretty good idea of what's to come and I know that I now need to give these at least a month or two to rest and get used to my humidor before smoking another but it's not gonna be easy in this case!! Cheers all Mike
ksblazer Posted June 3, 2011 Posted June 3, 2011 Nice review of my current favorite No.2 Have some 08's that are smoking very well. Good to hear the 2010's are too.
bhead Posted July 22, 2011 Posted July 22, 2011 Fortunate enough to have a box of 2005's, bought after I smoked a number of these while trolling around Rome. Down to my last five, they are an incredible smoke.
