nick17 Posted May 29, 2011 Posted May 29, 2011 Today I was able to try mt first Cohiba Behike 52 (due to the high price of a single stick here in the Toronto Canada) the BHK 52 was the first cigar of three (BHK 52, montecristo open regata & a Cuaba Divinos) The BHK was amazing off the light how ever after the first third it quickly became a huge disappointment the flavors doped off rapidly and they became almost as if i was smoking a block of coal, it picked up slightly again then dropped off. I don't know if this is common with the BHK 2 but i loved the first third and a bit of it but after that it was nothing special at all montecristo open regata: yes I know a lot of you will laugh at this cigar but i find it a decent cigar for any time of day but best suited for morning. this is the second regata i have smoked or well rather attempted to smoke this weekend the first the draw was so tight even after I drilled the cigar to help open it up I quickly gave up on that cigar and tossed it in the garbage today i smoked another with my friend the draw was again tight but as i smoked it opened right up my friends was a perfect draw, I feel that the consistency of the ragata is rather poor as this is the third dud out of the box of 20. I have 12 left i will see how the rest go. Cuaba Divinos: this is the second divinos i have ever smoked i picked up three singles late last year i smoked one and found it was way to full bodied for me at the time, after several month of aging it seems to have mellowed out i was able to smoke about three quarters of it before it got to hot it had a rely strong woody flavor to it with hints of leather. it was far from my favorite cigar and most likely wont buy any more
maverickdrinker Posted May 29, 2011 Posted May 29, 2011 sorry to hear that the BHK 52 was disappointing for you. Hopefully, it was just a bad stick. I find them to be a cohiba on steroids. Very pronounced flavours. Maybe try another one to see? The monte opens are a good morning coffee cigar as it is very light in flavor profile. Thanks for the reviews.
thechenman Posted May 31, 2011 Posted May 31, 2011 Sorry to hear about your BHK experience. the 52 didn't work out, but give the 54 and 56 a try before you give up on them.
nick17 Posted June 2, 2011 Author Posted June 2, 2011 It was an amazing cigar for the first third I was taken back by it but soon there after I was almost willing to to it down about half way through the stick. I definitely think that it was a bad stick and the next time i have that kind of money to send on a single cigar i think I will be buying a 54 & I have not given up on the BHK line what so ever. Oh and I for got to add this in the original post but I was drinking Pol Roger Champagne with the last two cigars and glad you all liked the review I think i will be doing a revue of the PSD4 and something else Cuban this weekend
