Hey there all you FOH'ers out on the Left coast.

I am heading out to Vancouver for a business conference April 30 - May 5th and was wondering if any of you can recommend any cigar friendly locations.

Cheers

Surprised some of the other Vancouver fellows on here havn't yet jumped on here yet.......

Anyway, there are two places that I know of - Cedar Cottage Pub on Kingsway and Clark Dr, and Nathan's Grill out in Burnaby. Both are quite good with cigar-friendly patios, edge to Cedar Cottage on the food IMO

Let me know if you are in Victoria at all......Outside my apartment is a great Cigar-friendly site! :cigar:

thanks chance. I would love to take you up on that offer in addition to heading down to check out HMCS Vancouver. It would definately bring back some memories from my Navy days. Unfortunately I am downtown at the Farimont Pacific Rim and pretty booked up with business commitments.

Well ended up being way to busy out in Vancouver Sorry mate. Next time.

BTW to any of you FOH'ers out in the Vancouver area I did drop by the Cigar Connoisseur on Water Street and the owner told me that he is going to be getting a cigar lounge up and running in the not too distant future.

Might want to keep an eye out for that when it is up and running.

You should check out the Cigar Connoisseur, nice little B&M just a bit over from the Steamworks on the other side of Water Street. Owner told me that he has had lawyers working on his cigar lounge idea for a while now and that they have found a loophole that will work.

Cedar Cottage Pub is 15 minutes up the Kingsway from downtown (near Knight St). It is the only place left since Nathan's closed this month. They are cigar friendly and food and drinks are good value. Not a summer location as they open up the patio to the pub, but Vancouver is a 'short summer' sort of a city so not a big deal!

I hear there are a few places in New West that allow smoking on the patio also.

I'll try to get the specifics.

They have patio doors that they leave up in the summer so the restaurant is part of the patio and thus no smoking. In the cooler months the doors are closed and you can smoke on the patio.

Reading all this stuff about safe havens for cigar smokers, its a crying shame. I live mid Vancouver island and things are so different. I have two parks I frequent all the time. Nothing like watching the ships go by sitting on a park bench wasting an hour and a half. I get smiles from people jogging by. You know I remember smoking in the bank downtown Van waiting to cash my paycheck. There were ashtrays on the pillars for the stanchions. Where did things go wrong?

Just got back from the beach and a Perdomo reserve 10th anniversary criollo and an elderly lady commented on how nice it was to smell a cigar. Her husband thought it was great too. I think I live in cigar heaven. Just need to find more people into it around here.

On a positive note I usually smoke on a nice beach or in a nice park and get to watch life go by instead of being indoors.

lefti where abouts on the island I have a place in nanaimo

Up in Merville, just north of Courtenay. Was at Qualicum Beach. Dropped the nephew off at ferry and took the free time to have a stogie.

Beach smoking is the best smoking. Next to back deck and coffee or whiskey smoking. Or mountain top smoking, oh that's good too.

Heading to Vancouver the end of May 4 days prior to the cruise. I'm just wondering if there is any update on a place to smoke.

On a side note: I am planning on being there from Wednesday until the cruise Saturday. What places should I check out?

Hit up City Cigar. They're the best in town. Get your wallet ready though.

We lost our LCDH a while back.

All smoking inside and within a few feet of the building is banned. So yeah... SOL

This just sucks big time. I was hoping to enjoy a nice cigar 1 or 2 of the evenings. Now I'm going to have to wait until I get on the cruise and then, only be able to smoke on the deck. Seems cigarettes are ok to smoke inside the casino but not cigars. Makes no sense to me!!!
