anacostiakat Posted April 13, 2011 Posted April 13, 2011 What wrappers do you prefer? Are you a mas maduro man? Personally I prefer lighter wrappers. A nice reddish hue is about as dark as I prefer.
lemmycaution Posted April 13, 2011 Posted April 13, 2011 I usually prefer lighter wrappers too. Although I do like some cigars with darker wrappers, just not as dark as maduro.
Habanakane21 Posted April 13, 2011 Posted April 13, 2011 I like them bit oily and not too much dark. Not into maduro's or super light wrappers.
jawofboston Posted April 14, 2011 Posted April 14, 2011 I think they all have their charms. Actual maduro wrappers need to be done just right to be really tasty. I'm looking forward to the day when Havanas can be wrapped with Connecticut shade again (they grow it behind my house). I think that would make a nice and creamy light cigar.
davekay Posted April 14, 2011 Posted April 14, 2011 Im not a big maduro fan, although I havent had many. I prefer them light brown to reddish...how I picture a perfect El Rey del Mundo Choix Supreme.
Rogers72 Posted April 14, 2011 Posted April 14, 2011 I have found that I enjoy them both equally. I used to get hung up on it because I think that a Maduro wrapper LOOKS much better, typically. I have found that the lighter wrappers have more of that old school "twang" though it seems. There are some cigars that I seem prefer with a darker wrapper: VR Unicos, Bolivar PC, CE. There are some cigars that I seem to prefer with a lighter wrapper: All Cohiba, All Upmann, All Partagas. That could be in my head though...
thechenman Posted April 14, 2011 Posted April 14, 2011 When it comes to NCs, I'm a huge maduro fan; however, I just don't think the Cubans get it right with maduro wrappers. The whole Maduro 5 line from Cohiba is subpar, with the best of the lot being the Secretos. That said...I do still prefer darker and oilier wrappers...just please...no Cuban maduros.
