In any case probably to due reasons mentioned earlier in this thread about grey market vendors. It seems unlikely they used a seal from another type of cigar and scratched off the numbers, though always a possibility of course.

They just don't want to identify the distributor through the barcode number. The one way they could be fake is if they took the seal from a cheaper box, scratched out the numbers and put it on your box. But if they went to all that trouble to fake the cigars, they'd be able to print a fake seal rather than go to all that trouble.
