ChanceSchmerr Posted March 17, 2011 Posted March 17, 2011 I seriously considered cancelling my CA subsription this year. Decided against it, thought I'd give them one more chance to win me over with Cigar journalism, and see if they realized how freakin' out-of-place all the golf and poker articles were getting. Got my latest issue in yesterday. Supressed the urge to vomit upon seeing Matthew McConaughey on the front cover. One of the, if not THE worst actor in Hollywood today. Christ on a crutch. I'm done with this magazine at the end of the year. Skipped through not one but TWO golf articles (does the PGA own stock in this magazine?) and another online gambling article to get to the cigar reviews. Churchills? Hmm the Esplendidos come out on top. not bad. I see my favortie NC, the LGC Artesanos de Miami made this month's list with a solid 88. Good stuff. Next, on to the Coronas.......and hey! One of my all-time faves, the Diplomaticos No. 3 is on top! And its from a box code of April 2009! 2009? They've been discontinued since 2006!!!!! For 's sake, if you're going to waste our time with the golf, at least name either the cigar or the box code right!!!!!! A look to the page near the front of the mag where they note the top cigars of that issue shows that they called it a Dip 4 instead of 3 there. Which makes a bit more sense for the box date, but then why the heck is it in the Coronas section? Ghaaaa!!!! CA, Forget you - I'm switching over to the European Cult Cigar Journal! At least they freakin' get the tombstone data right!!! Ranting time is over. I'm going home to pay tribute to Chuck with a long skinny before I hit the Irish Whiskey for St. Paddy's day. Cheers!
FireDigger Posted March 17, 2011 Posted March 17, 2011 Have you heard of Matthew McConaughey's next movie?
Colt45 Posted March 17, 2011 Posted March 17, 2011 Different strokes I enjoyed the McConaughey article, as well as the Alan Rubin and HSA articles. I found the up to the minute Vegas betting and Lange / Glashütte watch articles very interesting. As is normal for me, I very briefly perused the ratings section and skipped the golf. I don't really consider it strictly a cigar magazine - more of a lifestyle mag (they themselves call it "the good life magazine for men")
