Colt45 Posted March 12, 2011 Posted March 12, 2011 I recently smoked my last M2 (circa 2005) from a batch I had in the humidor for about five years. It was on the darker side - earthy, very dark roasted coffee, strong-ish, with a prominent ligero cone for it's duration - much like it's brethren. I've not smoked every cigar in the line, but generally speaking this is how I find the marque to be overall. It made me think about some of the initial discussions on the Open Series, where a few members mentioned that they felt that Montecristi are "mild" enough already. So not including the Open Series, I'm wondering how members consider Montecristo overall in terms of body / strength.
Omskakas Posted March 12, 2011 Posted March 12, 2011 Medium, I'd say. It might even be The Medium I compare other marcas to.
headstand Posted March 12, 2011 Posted March 12, 2011 , I'm wondering how members consider Montecristo overall in terms of body / strength. For me: Medium strength, but fuller bodied - a rich texture to the smoke (especially as the smoke starts to warm)
El Presidente Posted March 12, 2011 Posted March 12, 2011 Monte 2's specifically for me can be from Mild-Medium to Medium-full in strength. Medium is the norm.
Chicago Posted March 12, 2011 Posted March 12, 2011 Medium to medium full compared to the others but I've never had a strong Monte. They have a certain "twang" to them that is characterisitc of the brand. Like a good single malt that has that vanilla flavor to it. Flavorful and medium bodied. I've also had some real mild losers as well especially in the number 2.
