beamer Posted March 8, 2011 Posted March 8, 2011 Anybody try the title cigar yet? (Bolivar PC from MAR 10) Wonder if these ought to just sit for a while. They certainly look and smell good. I know, I know, I should see for myself. Just thought I'd check.
Rogers72 Posted March 8, 2011 Posted March 8, 2011 I haven't tried any from that particular code but I do smoke alot of BOlivar PC's and I've never had any issues with smoking them young. In fact, they seem to be notorious for being great (albeit sometimes pretty strong) when young.
beamer Posted March 8, 2011 Author Posted March 8, 2011 Thanks, you're right- they do tend to be stronger when young. Hopefully I'll have time for one this evening and can report back.
beamer Posted March 8, 2011 Author Posted March 8, 2011 Good looking box. Not the darkest I've seen, not the oiliest. Definitely better than most, however. Initial third was burnt toast, light coffee, and lots of the usual citrus and tobacco flavors these are known for. A little grassy, I'm guessing due to the age. Second third was creamier, more coffee, citrus, and tobacco. The grassy flavor subsided, more toasted hay, still that young, fresh flavor. Final third was the Bolivar pepper. Definitely smokeable right now. I'm going to have a hard time laying off of these when they're sitting in the humidor next to the non-Cubans. Interested to see how these turn out in a year or two.
bassman Posted March 8, 2011 Posted March 8, 2011 BPCs are very reliable cigars. Excellent young & age well too. I've smoked a lot of these over the years. Light wrapper or dark they never disappoint me.
