....."Any new stuff in a sixty ring gauge?" and lanceros and petit coronas were "girly." I think this plays a pretty big roll in why there are so many giant, boring NCs.

And the Cubans? Over the past few years, look at all the 50+ ring releases and sub 50 ring deletions, with not all produced being gold.

And to whom are they selling all these jaw breakers?

I did what I could! :)

The way I pushed lanceros, lonsdales, coronas, and petite coronas would have made a crack dealer blush, and after several months, we built a pretty solid demand for them, especially lanceros. It was pretty rare to have someone try a smaller ring gauge cigar and not come back surprised by how much more balanced they were than the vast majority of of 60s. However, even with that, in general there was way more interest in the big stuff than the little stuff. Even traditional sizes are inflated among NCs. If memory serves, the average size of a "Churchill" across all our facings was around a 52.

Ack! I voted the wrong way. I smoke CCs less than 5% but voted the other way.

Only because CCs (actually ANY cigars) here in Canada are VERY expensive. Our alcohol and especially tobacco taxes put them out of reach of most middle classed people. So I order through the U.S. online and have them mark package as 'gift' so I dn't pay duty/tax. I can get a bundle of 10 for $30 on discount (regular $70US) that up here would cost $200. But of course... no CCs available in US stores.. :)

But I'm headed to Cuba in a week (Apr.5th) and will be bringing back my limit (x2 - girlfriend :) )

Being located with easy access to the US and considering the high price of CC's in Ontario, I started with NC's and Dominicans.

My humidor is currently about 50/50 but am buying more CC's lately.

Still trying many different cigars to find the type I like for various occasions.

Interesting thread especially to someone like myself that has very recently joined this forum... Being a Cuban Cigar forum I was not expecting a whole lot of pro non Cuban cigars which is of course what is here... Guess I fall into the category that smokes many more non Cubans than Cubans (I would estimate 70/30)... I would probably prefer to smoke all aged Cubans but it just doesn't seem financially practical... Plus quite frankly there are tons of non Cubans that I really like.... I also live in Florida, so smoking 2 to 4 smokes a day can be pricey!! Lots of good cheap NC available if you keep your eye out...

And of course being from the States has a lot to do with it I would imagine if I was living outside the States I would probably be smoking about 90% Cuban....

There's only 1 NC I really smoke in between CC's. That's a local brand ( I think?) from Thomas Hinds here in Canada. They have a maduro torpedo that is Nicaraguan made that would almost fool you into thinking it's a monte 2 at times... I bought a few reluctantly on recommendation of a local shop owner who said I would enjoy them.. cocoa and coffee.. lots of power.. they burn white and even all the way.

All the other NC's I've ever tried have left me with a WTF factor. I should add I started smoking Cuban's before NC's soo they never really had a chance :D
