monte 2's

i have been smoking monte 2's since i visited cuba in 2007!

the flavour and aroma was amazing!! i was hooked!

but lately (last 2 boxes) they have been a great disappointment

leather and earth all the way through without that distinctive monte 2 flavour after the 1st third, and no aroma that i was so addicted to!

i would smoke them down as far as i could w/o getting burnt! now they are in the bin halfway through!

i wonder? do the cigar factories have different recipes for this cigar?

has there been a bad tobacco crop?

maybe its me but i don't do anything different,i keep the humi at a constant 65-70

and start smoking them as soon as they arrive!

please help as i am on the verge of giving up if i can't find the old monte 2

Hey Deelcee,

I am curious what box codes and years your last 2 boxes have been? I've had my share of 08s that were less than stellar, but the recent late 09 Monte #2s have me excited, some of the best #2s I've ever had, construction, taste, body, it's all there. Check out the review the guys did of them recently.

I don't remember them being this good in the last few years.
