I have managed to secure some time in Vancouver, BC, between Oct 22-23rd. The fiancee is attending a Music Educator's conference, and asked if I'd like to join her in Vancouver for the few days. The only snag is i'd have to find something to do between 9 am and 5pm on Friday 22 Oct and Saturday 23 Oct . I told her I'd get by somehow I know there is a fair-sized community of FOH members in Vancouver, as well in Western Canada and the Pacific Northwest. I propose that we get together at around noontime on Saturday 23 Oct, to meet, have a drink and a bite and of course, enjoy some fine fine cigars! Who is with me? Any FOH member or BOTL is welcome to attend! I have spoken already to FOH member Onsto, who has suggested a couple of Locales - The Cedar Cottage Pub (3728 Clark Dr, Vancouver, BC), the owner is a BOTL and has one of the only smoking patios left in Vancouver or Nathan's Grill in Burnaby (6390 Damley St, Burnaby, BC) - Has a Cigar-Friendly patio What say you - I suggest that everyone going votes for one of the two choices, or proposes their own, and we'll decide by Monday 18 Oct where we want to go. I suggest Noon as the meeting time - this way we can have a bite, drink comfortably and have time for at least 2-3 cigars before I need to leave at 5 pm to return to meet the fiancee at her conference. That said, I'm flexible with timings, if guys have different ideas for timings, by all means suggest them! So, who is interested? We don't have a fancy poster like those Toronto guys - but you can't beat West Coast Enthousiasm - so let's get together and toast to havana cigars and good company!
Onsto Posted October 14, 2010 Posted October 14, 2010 Nice work Chance! I'm all over this like a fat kid on a cupcake FWIW I'm happy with either location. Cedar Cottage is easier for public transit from downtown, Nathan's is easier for driving in off Highway 1 and has more parking. Both are great places for a herf.

Same date as the Toronto get together. FOH coast to coast in Canada!! I like it. So far the long range forecast for Toronto is rain on the 23'rd. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that its overcast at worst. Good luck with your event gents. Take photos, break out your best Habanos and live it up.

ChanceSchmerr Posted October 27, 2010 Author Posted October 27, 2010 Yeah, it was a smaller event than the Toronto version, I guess most of Vancouver was in hiding with me around haha An enjoyable afternoon to be sure! Attended by Nick, Onsto and I, we had a great lunch at Nathan's Grill and throughly enjoyed some fine havanas! Onsto took a pic of me and Nick on his phone, but since none of us were sharp enough to actually bring a real camera, you'll have to take our word for it lol! My smokes of the afternoon was a sample of the new Juan Lopez Seleccion No. 4 RE Asia Pacific - I've already posted in another thread about this one - a great smoke for lovers of the JL Profile. My first cigar of the afternoon was an ERDM Grandes de Espana from my 2001 box - just a stellar thin cigar full of pure joy - I love that cigar! Next time we plan one of these get togethers in Vancouver, I'll be sure to add as much notice as I can ahead of time so we can get a few more fellas out there, but for me - I had a wonderful time with Nick and Onsto - Great to spend some time with you, boys - I look forward to our next encounter!
