Dbone Posted October 7, 2010 Posted October 7, 2010 Nice to hear your experience with these Max. I purchased two boxes and had one after a few weeks of resting. Flat, dull, dusty, just blah. After that I closed them up and haven't thought about them since. I'll give them some time as you did, let's hope my experience is similar to yours. A congratulations is in order dood! A good month at sea, buying a farm, wow! Your post also brings up the topic of giving cigars "RESTING" time. In my early days, I couldn't believe resting cigars for 30 to 60 days was called for. Just the laymen in me thinking. I soon learned that in fact the advise holds a lot of merit and I should not pass judgment on any box without at least 60 days and smoking 2-3 from the box. Most recently I lovely box from early 09 of RASS was smoking terrible. After 75 days of rest, out of surprise I opened the box to find oil now on the rappers (nice sheen) and aroma increased dramatically. One of the best roasted nutty flavored RASS I've had in a long time... This box is getting pulled on regular smoking rotation now. I'm far from understanding what the science is behind the resting period, but the results time and time again have me convinced the process is real and can dramatically affect the cigar.
Charltonc Posted October 7, 2010 Posted October 7, 2010 I wish I didn't compulsively smoke one right out of the box every time, but I am learning the more time sitting the better the cigar. Patience is a virtue.

You are in a constant search for the "Holy Grail"
