JasonInChiTown Posted September 28, 2010 Posted September 28, 2010 Dipping my feet in the proverbial review waters - this is my first and looking forward to posting more in the future. Location on my apartment roof. Glorious early autumn day in Chicago. I typically never smoke during the day [unless it's the weekend] however, I was able to work from home today and couldn't pass up this golden opportunity. This is where I typically smoke between April and late October. 2 blocks from the Hancock Tower, it's a serene place to enjoy a cigar. Drinking some black coffee Construction: Little veiny, perfect construction with slight oil. Packed at the foot and slight spongy Draw and Burn: Great draw [light hay at cold] and perfect burn - considering it's a bit breezy outside 1/3: Light medium body, notes of leather, almonds and toast. A little creamy with a slight taste of cherry. There is an abundant amount of smoke 2/3: Body picking up to pure medium. Small trace of white pepper, but I am also getting a very strong earl gray tea note, which is very pleasant. Very tight ash. 3/3: Body is a strong medium, tea notes dissipate a tad, which is replaced by tons of black cherry, cocoa and leather. Very pleasant and the after taste is wonderful. Final thoughts: Very pleasant smoke - a perfect morning/early afternoon cigar and pairs well with coffee. I really think the HdM EE is very underrated. A relaxing 75 minutes of enjoyment. It's a wonderful addition to my humidor! Score: 91/100
CanuckSARTech Posted September 28, 2010 Posted September 28, 2010 Awesome, Jason - well done. A great review to read, with some excellent tasting notes, and some absolutely stunning pictures. I wish my view was that wonderful! Well done. Cheers.
carl609 Posted September 29, 2010 Posted September 29, 2010 Great review, thanks. I just picked up a box of these. I am going to let them sit for a little while, but cant wait to smoke one.
