Trevor2118 Posted August 2, 2010 Posted August 2, 2010 As my penance for beating Rob at the poker recently, I was sent an un-banded cigar for a blind tasting; so here gos. Preface: Because of time limitations, the cigar only had 3 days to rest. Size: Robusto. Cold Aroma: appealing. Appearance: 4/5. Touch: fairly uniform, tending to slightly hard. Cold Draw: perfect. Smoke Volume: good (I like plenty of smoke). Burn: Good. Ash: uniform & straight (to me a sign of good rolling / construction). Strength: very strong, lessening over the last third. Taste: classic toasted tobacco (what else ) Overall: very good to excellent (smoked down to the nub) Score: say 91. What was it?..........I would say a Partagás D4. Age:......................This is a long stretch, but I would say first half of 2009 (ie at least a year old). Rob, many thanks for the poker and the cigar (and the chance to make an idiot out of myself). Trevor.
El Presidente Posted August 2, 2010 Posted August 2, 2010 Very well done Trevor ken would have struggled calling it a Robusto . Not quite a D4 but I can see the similarities between younger D4 and this cigar. Por larranaga Robusto Asia Pacific Regional Release Oct 07. Glad you enjoyed it!
