kafreeman Posted June 19, 2010 Posted June 19, 2010 In light of the clearance, Ive been wanting to try some Monte 4's. How are they smoking? Im also looking at the RyJ Cazadores.... or the various Bolis....
JoshMP Posted June 19, 2010 Posted June 19, 2010 Monte 4's been the best selling cuban for, what, three years now? It's always a solid cigar imho. That being said I am going through a big Bolivar phase at the moment and when they are good they are good. If I had to pick I'd say get the Bolivars whilst they are HQ and buy some monte 4's another time.
DAFU Posted June 20, 2010 Posted June 20, 2010 Mine from '08 are smoking very good now. Recommended...................................................
Cambridge1 Posted June 20, 2010 Posted June 20, 2010 I think Monte 4’s are very inconsistent. I’d buy an HQ box to vastly improve my odds.
El Presidente Posted June 20, 2010 Posted June 20, 2010 The right box of Monte 4 and they re as good as any Petit Corona being made today. The right box is a mix of construction, wrapper and that aroma at cold which in the Monte 4's case should resemble a block of dark cooking chocolate.
mbrody Posted June 20, 2010 Posted June 20, 2010 Damn he's good... The right box of Monte 4 and they re as good as any Petit Corona being made today. The right box is a mix of construction, wrapper and that aroma at cold which in the Monte 4's case should resemble a block of dark cooking chocolate.
Wicky Posted June 21, 2010 Posted June 21, 2010 Take Robs word for it. I'm about 6 or so into a SET? '09 HQ box and for such a young cigar they have all been extra good!
Lotus400 Posted June 21, 2010 Posted June 21, 2010 I heeded the Man's advice and grabbed a couple of 10 count boxes in HQ. When Rob speaks, people listen

I had a bad first impression with Monte No.4's a few years ago. Every other stick was plugged. I think it's time to give 'em a try again.
