Ken Gargett Posted June 14, 2010 Posted June 14, 2010 for those that saw this morning's debacle where we were utterly thrashed by germany, 4-0, a scoreline i thought very much flattered us, this was the quote from tim cahill when he was sent off with the game at 2-0 down - "I felt the incident turned the game". is he on drugs? did he realise we were losing or is he so up himself that he thinks he is so good that he could have turned it around. pele, maradona and all the ronaldo's you can find could not have saved us. we were in it right up to the national anthems. why does he think this? - "because although we were two goals down at the time we had a bit of momentum behind us and were making them work hard to stay ahead". no tim, the only thing we had behind us was a well used net. and they had to work hard to stay awake, not ahead.

I quite often think most (Not all) but most sportsmen whilst talented at their sport are not the sharpest tools in the shed hence the dumb ass quote.

That's another reason why many footballers etc get into so much trouble out of the arena. Their talent gets to their head, there's not much room left up there for rational thought and so they f**k up royally. They will then make a public apology only to re-offend a couple weeks/months later. Kinda makes you wonder if they should be wearing a helmet or dunce cap permanently!

I agree with Tim...2-0 down and we had them just where we wanted them I will give Tim Cahill the benefit of the doubt in that his statements were a gee up. Picture him in the post game dressing room...you can hear a pin drop......Cahill : "well that went well"
dicko Posted June 14, 2010 Posted June 14, 2010 Maybe not the same, but worst call ever: "Let's have a bowl..." Ricky Ponting after the coin toss, 2005 Ashes, Edgbaston Test
