Another favourite of mine,if you off on your holidays,somewhere hot this is a great companion.

Set on a fictitious Greek island,a young man is lead a merry dance by a mysterious rich man and a beautiful young woman.

The writing is excellent,with the descritions of the island and atmosphere.

An enigmatic novel,that you can never quite get your finger on......

it must be quite old now - i have a feeling i read that when i was still in my teens - a lifetime ago. from memory, i enjoyed it but it did seem a touch weird. if i recall, he also did a series of short stories alled the collector or butterfly collector, which i also enjoyed, and which i also found a bit weird. i think after that, it was back to wilbur smith.

i think it's the Collector,though i've never read it.

He was an odd writer,with a preocupation with people being "chosen",and others being lead.

It is a bit wierd,but a really good read,on a Greek island.
