this is a quote sent to me recently, made by a politician. there appears to be some wisdom to it, though the foreign aid comment is more debatable. take a guess who said it and more importantly when, it was said. find out by scrolling below.

"The budget should be balanced, the Treasury should be refilled.

Public debt should be reduced.

The arrogance of officialdom should be tempered and controlled.

The assistance to foreign lands should be curtailed lest our country becomes

bankrupt.

People must again learn to work, instead of living on public assistance."

and to be fair, i did insert 'our country instead of 'rome'.
