Lucky enough to go to a swan valley (western australia) vintners tasting tonight. Some really good aged reisling, verdelho (which swan valley does so well and sh*ts on savvy blanc), cabernet from margs. not to mention some shiraz and malbec from the 70's and 80's.... and to finish some AMAZING fortifieds. It was a real eye opener for me. Some port and muscat from the 1940's and 1960's came out and it was rich, vibrant, almost fresh. Just amazing. Probably wasted on me but I feel really lucky to get to try this stuff, probably some of the better wine I will ever taste. Thought I would share ;)
