Hello all. my name is john, and i live in bristol, uk. I have had a mixed history of smoking cigars- in my younger days i used to treat them as something that needed to stay as red as possible for as long as possible- needless to say i was sick/green alot and didn't really "get it".
i had the birth of my first child a few weeks ago and was given a pair of tubed Cohiba siglo VI by my best friend. Even looking at them turned me green... so i decided to start "practicing" on smaller vitolas just so that i could do the siglos justice.
So having bought a humidor to store them in i bought a mixed selection from a uk vendor (Punch p punch, bolivar p.corona, uppmann junior, hoyo epi 2, uppman conn 1, por laranaga p.corona to name but a few) and have been making my way through them to great enjoyement. I have had the advice of "slow down, pace yourself" and this has opened up a new world. I had a siglo I last week and it tasted like eating coffee beans/dark chocolate/cream- intense, lingering flavours. Needless to say i'm hooked and am going to try as many different tastes as possible.
Here's to a great journey through smoke...
john
