  1. Funny thing is a few of my smokes recently have been going out on me on a frequent basis and I had to chuck them cuz it was a pain to keep them lit. Don't know if the winecooler has anything to do with that or if it's just the luck of the draw I guess
  2. Hahaha lol spoken like someone who's been around a few times. Ain't this the truest advice I've heard all day
  3. Thanks for that explanation fugu. It makes sense that it would take cigars several days of a changed Rh to follow that day. A short change like mine most likely won't affect my stash. I will for the rest of the summer try to keep my house and the wineadors as consistent as possible
  4. Thanks for everything piggy. I can see you put a lot of work into this. Zelda of it makes my brain hurt lol
  5. Only thing is pig will have to walk me through the data logger etc. I'm a noob when it comes to science lol
  6. Thanks for all the input guys. I'm currently at work work gonna check it when I get home. You guys/gals have been great help.
  7. Which part should I reply to first lol. I don't take offense in you telling me about me not being in control and that's it's a passive system. You really blew me away when you started saying you have charts and controlled expirements and stuff lol. I could hardly keep up with what you said here so more data and stuff would probably confuse me as I'm not a science person. What I do understand though is that the passive system I currently have is a lot more dependent on the ambient temp than I originally thought. But answer me this pigfish isn't boveda packs and beads suppose to be a active system that's suppose to take away and give humidity as is needed ( at least that's how it's advertised as). Also I keep a one slot of space between my cigars and the bottoms for that exact reason, I dot want the condensation to touch my cigars. I check on it regularly and some times it's there sometimes not. Funny thing is the new one I bought( the top one) trickles more than the bottom one ( the old one). They are both the same model idk why it's doing that. In conclusion for my instants I should be ok is I keep the ambient temp somewhat constant? ( sorry if making you dumb it down for me is a pain). Since yesterday the Rh and temp seem to have stabilized. Waiting on new hygrometers that are more consistent.
  8. Lord you answered one of the concerns i had. My humidity in my winecooler has been going up and down 2 points for the past couple of months but today when i opened u my windows to air out my house (was running the ac on for a week too hot lol) within 12 hours my rh dropped like a brick. i turned my ac back on and its slowly climbing back up. As you said 5-10 point difference are gonna kill the cigars lol.
  9. I have seen parts of some episodes and i gotta say even the people who live in the wilderness as a life style like The last frontier, mountain men etc they know how dangerous and unforgiving mother nature can be more than anyone and they say all the time you either come prepared or you could lose your life SO why do these people thinks its ok to wlak around a jungle where everything want to eat or bite you ok? Could never understand this.
  10. Lmaoooo you guys are great. So basically PigFish as long as i reduce the Ambient temp i should be ok? I turned the ac on as soon as i got home. I think i have enought beads and boveda pack for three wienador not two lol. Cna never be too careful.
  11. Hello BOTL/SOTL I have recently brought my second wineador and i have been having some problem with both of them. I keep my wineador temp at 64-65 with both heartfelt beads and boveda packs at 65 rh. Yesterday i opened up my windows to air out my house cuz ive been running the ac non stop for a week now (its been hot as hell here in NY). Today when i came back from work i noticed that my temp was 69-71 (whcih isnt that high but still i like to keep mine a 66-68 range) but worse the rh had dropped to 58. im pretty sure that my hygrometers are calibrated but just in case i bought two new one and a calibraton kid from boveda. My question why the sudden rh drop and do i have too little cedar in my wineador. i have one drawer and shelf on the bottom of the wineador and boxes stacked to the top of both. I've only had my wineadors for about two year now fairly new subject for me. Can someone more experienced please chime in.
  12. Hey guys and gals, I'm fairly new to the cigar world (about 2 years) and only recently have I started buying boxes of cigars. What with the holidays here I bought a large purchase of cigar boxes online and today when I got them I found some intresting things that I wanted your opinion on guys. First the padron 1964 exclusivo and padron palmas both had the DO Not remove tag that padron puts on the box removed. Also the padron 1964 as well as a family resrve box I bought both did not have a country seal on them (you know that tag that nearly all boxes have on them somewhere on the box). Secondly I also bought a davidoff millennium toro box that when I opened the cigars seemed lighter than one davidoff millennium cigar I smoked a couple of months ago, I remembered being darker in color. If any of you can chime in on this and assure me a little it would be helpful I don't want to reserve some counterfeit stuff of something, I paid a pretty penny for them. PS I'll post some pictures for you guys
  13. How you all doing? I have been a cigar smoker for about two years now. Really love the whole experience/ ritual of cigar smoking. Some of my favorite cigars are padron thousand series, Fuente Hemingway and RP decade. Thanks for accepting me into the site
