  1. » Smoke them up or let them sit for a good three years. RASS goes through a » particularly long bland period. Patience... I'm having one from 9/03 right now and it is GREAT! I haven't had any of the '06 RAs myself, but since others are saying how good they are I may have to pick some up. I think if anything is good fresh is will be amazing with some time on it. I'm not willing to put away something bad in the hopes that it gets better. Not enough cabinet space...
  2. I had my first over the weekend and agree with most of your comments (excellent review BTW). Mine had such a firm draw when I first tried to smoke it a month ago that I had to put it down in the humi. I was surprized how much it opened up in just a month! It had very nearly a perfect draw and burn to match. I didn't get any spice at the start, just a mild slightly citrus note. I thought it was going to be a rather mild, somewhat sweet smoke, but it continued to build strength in a linear fashion. By mid stick it had lost all of the citrus and most of its sweetness. It did get more spice in the middle, but not harsh. It got slightly acrid/bitter in the last third, but a purge eliminated most of that. I smoked it down till it was burning my fingers, and felt that it was one of the most satisfying sticks I have had (in my linited experience). I will try to get more of these for sure.
  3. I agree, that is awesome pic! I haven't tried the Sublimes yet, but from what I have heard I don't think it sounds like it is worth the money either. I'm so new to Habanos that I wouldn't appreciate it anyway. Thanks for the opinion (and saving me some money :-D )
  4. I just got a 10 pk of these and they do feel soft, almost underfilled. I am sure that they will have a very loose draw. I have some older sticks that are wonderful (feel and burn). I hope that the newer ones firm up with a little down time in the humi. Thanks for the nice review.
  5. Awesome cabi! I really like the top! I would love to have the time...or talent...or tools, to build something like that. Obviously I won't be building anything like that in the near future ;-)
  6. I was a pack a day cigarette smoker for 20 years, so I feel good about smoking cigars (about 5 a week). I have noticed health improvements from quitting cigarettes, and no ill side effects from cigars. I am sure that there are some risks involved with smoking of any kind, but there is also risk from a poor diet, lack of excercise, and stress, etc. I think the relaxation from smoking a fine cigar is beneficial, so I will continue to do it as long as I wish. It does come down to a personal decision, however.
  7. I'm going to order myself a nice Habano sampler! I got some nice domestics (Tatuajes), but I think I will have to get some Habanos for comparison:-D As soon as the kids are in bed, I will light up a RyJ Edicion Limitada 2003 Hermosos No. 1.

  9. » Welcome aboard Jeff. When I saw the screen name, I thought you might be » another poster that is known around the cigar community as PuffDaddy, yet » he is a long time cigar smokers that many people know. Hope you find the » forum interesting and provides you with the information you seek to help » your passion. » » Tampa I hope that isn't too confusing. I have the PuffDaddy screen name on another board, so I tried it here. The funny thing is that when I registered I didn't notice that I had spelled it wrong until after I hit submit. Thanks for the nice welcome
  10. I am fairly new to cigars in general and very new to Cubans. I haven't developed any favorites yet, but I am enjoying trying the different kinds I can find. I live with my wife and twin daughters in Southern Indiana. I look forward to learning more about my new PASSION, and hopefully make some more friends in the process! BTW.. It is amazing how people from around the world (literally) come together to enjoy this great hobby (addiction). Jeff
  11. » Yo Dustin ... you'll find this to be an educational and interesting board. » Welcome!! I'm glad to see that other BOTL's I know have found this board. It is nice to see a name I recognize. How can you miss a name like - LasciviousXXX-!
  12. I agree with the Fonseca line. I think the Cadet would fit the bill (or another PC, TPC). Larger RG sticks do burn cooler for those that might huff too hard on them, but I have never had a non-smoker finish a gifted cigar...
