Prior to smoking cc's, the CAO Brazilian was one of the first boxes of cigars I purchased. They have a smooth taste, not complex like I find w/cc's. I have also had a few of the CAO Odyssey line and have found them to be a tasty smoke.

I've got a few tins of the MX2, Brazilia, and Italia minis resting in my humidor. Since I don't have a lot of "me" time these days the CAO minis never fail to satisfy when I've got less than an hour for a smoke. And I shamelessly admit to enjoying an Eileen's Dream or Moontrance on the odd occasion.

And how did CAO come to be headquartered in Nashville???

They are a marketing machine but still make a few real good cigars. They could NEVER be compared to a Cuban nor could anything else. Everyone's trying to grab there piece of the pie and there is some real garbage out there. It you want to talk about marketing just Google Tatuaje and the boards are a flamed with his limited cigar games. A ticket to win a motorcycle is in 13 of the black painted actual coffins and the cigar is called the Dracula. There are 5000 coffin boxes of 13 cigars sold by 13 shops. What a clown! People are fighting to get these cigars.

Litto of La Flor Dominicana makes an awesome cigar if you like your teeth kicked in from all the aged ligero.

I've read that that's where Cano Ozgener lived when he started the company - selling pipes.

I'm going to buck the trend a bit here.

I think that CAO makes a number of decent smokes. I personally smoke the Gold, Italia, and Brazilia. Do I think they are cream of the crop cigars? Of course not. There are countless other cigars that I prefer. However, I can buy all three day in and day out on the auction site for less than $4 or $5 a piece. When I hang out at my cigar club, I usually start with something "good". But If I am going to be there all night and smoke 3 cigars, I don't want to spend $10-$15 per stick. So I finish the night with some inexpensive CAOs or other low priced cigars. If I could buy Padron 26s or Fuente Don Carlos or obviously most any good cuban for less than $100 per box, I wouldn't give CAO another thought. Until that day, I have to live within my means, and smoke cheaper cigars from time to time.
