Arrived home Saturday Morning from a week away in Malaysia and Singapore where I caught up with some old friends, did a little business, played up, smoked plenty of cigars.

Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia) is a remarkable city which I thoroughly enjoy. It combines a modern vibrancy with traditional culture and has some of the finest authentic food on the planet (mix of Indian, Malay, Chinese). It is also the home of my good friend Naresh Mohan who is the PCC distributor for the country and so I spent my time their looking at his operations and doing a cigar crawl around the capital. My favourite place was Cu-Ba ....a sprawling cigar bar in the Westin Hotel which incorporates a modern grill, walk in humidor, fantastic Bar, band + plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. The place goes birko on Thursday - Saturday nights.

Cigar highlights were enjoying a 1970's Davidoff with Naresh followed by a 1982 R&J Churchill. Both were full and rich and in perfect condition.

Singapore is always a highlight for me as I have been going their for business and pleasure since the early 90's. My home away from home is the manificent Singapore Cricket Club which is the hub of local and expat pirates from around the world. I have always fitted right in :cigar:

This time however I spent far more time with good friend Wishnu (PCC General manager) at the Connoisseur Divan where I also caught up with Monty, Benjamin (tobaccobeetle) and a whole host of other reprobates. No night finished before 4am and the hospitality shown by all was out of this world. For those who are visiting Singapore make a point of visiting "The Connoisseur Divan" where the staff will make you feel right at home.

I also took the opportunity of visiting Jimmy Ng (Regent Hotel) at his La Casa Cubana. Jimmy as always was a consumate host and many fine hours were spent drinking Zacapa XO + some Partagas Royales from the 60's.

Naturally as always occures when I head away, the forums went down and general bedlam occured. Public holiday here today so I won't catch up with Lisa (romantic weekend away....assuming with Frank) and Smithy (in Melbourne visiting mates) until tomorrow....but I am sure there will be heroic tales of ship saving manouveres. As always my heartfelt thanks goes to them.

Remarkable brotherood that we have all created.

Great to be back fella's!

How is it with smoking cigars in Singapore? I thought they had pretty much banned smoking in most places?

One gets used to it very quickly, especially when cigars are involved . . . smoking areas are usually available in F&Bs as long as you are able to spot outdoor seating, but you will be lucky to get one on a weekend.

Then there are the plentiful parks in Singapore. Smoking there is technically illegal, but I always find a quiet corner so there's no mutual-bothering.
