Dr.G Posted April 13, 2009 Posted April 13, 2009 It was with hesitation that I fired up a RYJ Exhibition no 4 (my first one) tonight while watching Top Gear; I'd seen the hammering it received from the Video review. Well what an awesome surprise! Great draw, an opening of creamy nuttiness followed by two thirds of gorgeous stewed fruit these guys are renowned for! It ended with coffee. It was soooo good!!!! Unfortunately I don't have the box code as I got it for Czars as a single; the good news is I still have one from that batch! Cheers, George
SmokinAl Posted April 13, 2009 Posted April 13, 2009 Good on you George, I'm an old fan of Exy 4's. I've had some which are lousy, so I get the review the boys did, but there have been some others that have just floored me with a combination of cocoa, pepper and (this is going to sound strange) hibiscus. I'm pretty sure an exy4 was my first Robusto. It's been a hard act to follow. Give me a heads up before you come to Brisbane next so I can make sure we're around.
chrisguinther Posted April 13, 2009 Posted April 13, 2009 I've been smoking out of a dress box (MCS SEP 05) that has been spot on. Thinking about picking up a late 99 cabinet.
ksblazer Posted April 13, 2009 Posted April 13, 2009 Good to hear that there are some good RyJ Exhibition No.4's out there. The last great ones I've smoked were from mid 03 and they were probably the best Hermoso's I've ever smoked young. I've tried a few since then and they weren't quite the same as the 03's. I really miss the sweet floral flavors that those cigars offer.
El Presidente Posted April 14, 2009 Posted April 14, 2009 That's the way they should be George! i am looking forward to revisiting the R&J E4 in a full video review.
Bolismoker Posted April 14, 2009 Posted April 14, 2009 A great smoke when its on! It was my first Habanos, about 12 years ago. I was sad to hear they had lost their luster. I hope they're back.
