bigkev Posted April 4, 2009 Posted April 4, 2009 Some of you might have read my post about not having smoked a Cohiba in which I was really impressed with and understood what all the fuss is about. Granted, I have only tried about 4 or 5 CoRo robusto's, with most of them being from Canada and only one from Czar, out of the Xmas sampler(I still have one on ice). I recently ordered a box from Lisa of IV's and received them about a week ago or so and let them settle in my humidor and then "dry boxed" one for about 2 days. Well today I could not wait anymore, so I popped the cap on a triple filtered Chimay and lit up a IV. Wow, what a great cigar! The first third was filled with coffee, chocolate and spice. The next next third had a bit of orange peel and spice and the last third had that mocha taste again as well as that spiciness and a touch of mushroom? Anyway, it was a great smoke and one that I thoroughly enjoyed. Now that is what I expected from a Cohiba. I can't wait to smoke the next one.
smk819 Posted April 4, 2009 Posted April 4, 2009 Wait until they have rested awhile more. They will only improve.
bigkev Posted April 7, 2009 Author Posted April 7, 2009 A great Siglo IV is a work of art Yes, I really enjoyed it. I also smoked a R&J Short Churchill on Sunday and it was also outstsnding. I received the bow from CZAR about two weeks ago and was very impressed with them when I opened up the box. They were dark and oily. They looked like they were aged 5 years, but were ecent. Full of flavor like dried cherries and a very nice spiciness throughout.

I also love R&J Short Churchills, they are an awesome cigar to have often.
Mr.T Posted April 8, 2009 Posted April 8, 2009 Thanks for the review....the Siglo IV has always been one of my all time favorite cigars. I'm glad you enjoyed it. Don't smoke them all too fast, they will only get better.
