I have searched the many topics dealing with the freezing of cigars and wanted to know about cigars that have been in a deep freeze for more than a year. I have a friend at work who took advantage of a vacation and purchased some cigars and he has had them in his freezer for about 1 year. Is there any hope for these???? I am waiting on him to tell me the brands he has and how many and how he stored them in the deep freeze. Any advice??????

One thing is for sure. He does not have any tobacco beetles.

Other than that my recommendation would be to proceed as if you were freezing them for 3-4 days. Slowly... VERY slowly transfer them from the freezer to gradually warming conditions.. (If these are expensive cigars, it's worth at least trying). Freezer, to warmer freezer, to fridge, to cooler, to humidor. Probably over the course of a week I would say would be the smartest bet.

Were they double, triple bagged?

I am in the process of finding all this out and I would have to agree that it is worth a try. Not sure how many or brand yet and I guess the money question of how he stored them.... thank you very much for you input. God Bless.

LOL.......I can not say that I would disagree. He does have them stored in zip lock bags and the cig's them self were in individual rapers also. I am taking everything upon advice and relaying back and, hell who knows they might actually taste good with a some type of liquid.... Thanks all and I look forward to more education into the relm of cigars. I have to say the Cohiba siglo I are with out a doubt awesome. I can say that I am not a virgine to cubin cig's and I am understanding the tasting that has been relayed in the reviews vs a domincain cigars that I have been smoking, so I do without a doubt enjoy a Cohiba. Monti when I smoke one. Thanks again all.....

I have occasionally found cigars in the hme deep freeze that I put in there 4 years ago and forgot about until searching for something else.

Miraculously they tasted fine.
