SethG Posted March 21, 2009 Posted March 21, 2009 I think I can guess easily enough your source. They very often parallel import so any clues as to packaging should be thrown out right away. You're likely to also come across hologram boxes and LCDH boxes from them, neither is suspect. The Montecristo's look great. Not all tax seals flouresce the numbers correctly, in fact it seems to be that 70% don't. There are multiple supplies and the ones that glow are very white in appearance (the seal). Also in variation are old style and new style microprinting. If I'm correct about the vendor for this, they have a number of PSD4 boxes floating by that are extremely low quality and should be sent back. Flip the clasp up and look for the Schmele Germany engraving on the underside, if it's not there then it is one of the crap boxes, send it back. Also, invest in a gram scale and weigh the sticks individually, you should notice solid trends. The worse the cigar is the heavier it is, they pack in crap leaf and have to wind it really tight. You'll see swings on PSD4's from 11-12 grams good to 14-15 grams bad. Let us know what you find.
