Decided on this as my after dinner Christmas smoke. A gifted single so the exact box code is unknown.

Presentation is beautiful in 10ct varnished boxes.

Construction was excellent, no soft spots with a beautiful, slightly toothy wrapper. This is a large Gordito/Double Robusto, larger RG than I usually smoke.

Cut with the Palio and prelight draw was excellent, just a slight bit of resistance. Large volumes of earthy smoke. First third was stronger than I expected from a VR, quite different from the regular vitolas of this line. Lots of nice leathery, earthy flavors. But perhaps due to its young age the flavors seemed a bit undeveloped.

Second third the strength seemed a bit more pronounced. Bit of spice and pepper on the nose exhale, nice and tingly. FInal third the spice subsided and the earthy flavors returned. This was a much stronger cigar than I expected. Finish was a bit dry but not unpleasant.

In a word I would describe this as a young cigar. To me the strength and flavors bode well for long term aging. I have a box of these that I have put down for long term storage, I think this was a good decision. In five years this could be a stellar smoke.

I think anyone who missed these is bummed. These was a great blend and vitola. Just a great smoke! This is true for 1-3 RE's a year IMNSHO...

These are a very nice smoke and quite tasty. I see a little bit of the Jub in them and for the price I think they're a decent buy. Just hope they age as well as the Jub has. Happy I grabbed a couple boxes of these.
