Miami101 Posted November 15, 2008 Posted November 15, 2008 Jose I happy to hear you are O.K. I hear it was very hard, and people where without power, water, etc. Thank you for the photos.. I had family down in Cuba who I had to send help to....the funny thing is they just change the rules again on sending money... Also they take 20% of the money you send, and limit you to only $350 a month..... Really I could care less about the Goverment. What I do care about are the people on the island my people......I have to live with the fact every day I let them down, and the country I was born works to keep us apart. 90 Miles to Cuba from Key West, and on a clear day you can almost see the island. I stand pushing myself to see as far as my eye's will let me. I can almost make out the tip of the island. To visit this spot is a request made by the old Cuban here in Miami who know they are coming near to an close on life. It a hard thing for me to stand and watch them making peace with the fact they will never see home again. For me I can't hope to think what thoughts they are thinking, or that maybe they feel they have lost. We are almost lost, and Cuba is becoming a story told of Paradise lost. Some where in the 1950's must be that place they go to as they stand 90 miles from Cuba. One of the last thoughts of a time where they converse with family, and lived happy. I can tell once they return from this trip in time. My perception is the thought of coming here, and building this great city, and new family conferts them in this time. Sounded by grand childern and the future we have not lost paradise but brought it with us. It is who we are, and share with people.
