tigger Posted July 2, 2008 Posted July 2, 2008 » No.....I am up to "F" in the review week. Does this mean we'll be reviewing Guantanamera next week? Cuz I smoked my last 5 a couple of weeks ago, and haven't had time to order more... :-P

Guest CheapBastid Posted August 11, 2008 Posted August 11, 2008 » I was very fond of the Fonseca Invictos before they were discontinued and » I thought them to be by far the best of the line. » » Ashamedly, I haven't had a Fonseca (as far as I can remember) in close to » a year. I'm in the same boat, tried the Cosacos and they weren't memorable. I did enjoy the Invictos, but came to them late in the game after they were discontinued and haven't had one in a long time. They were a fun little odd shaped cigar.
Taino Posted August 11, 2008 Posted August 11, 2008 ...I already lost my dignity smoking a guantanamera, you wont make me smoke this, even knowing should be better... no no no sir, I'm not going to be a martir again!
Van55 Posted August 11, 2008 Posted August 11, 2008 People who dis Fonsecas based on hearsay are missing out, in my opinion. I think Fonseca #1 are one of the best value Cuban cigars available. They are NOT mild, in my experience. I made the smart decision some time ago to invest in a box of 1998 Cosacas. They were an amazingly pleasant surprise. I went through them like I would a bag of potato chips, they were that good. Yes, they were on the mild side, but had a nuanced complexity and balance and a hint of sweetness that I haven't found in many other cigars.
aavkk Posted August 11, 2008 Posted August 11, 2008 » They are NOT mild, in my experience. » Yes, they were » on the mild side... A cigar that does it all... Just breaking your chops. I am not ashamedly in the camp of "I'd rather just smoke something else" I have several "value smokes" in my humidor and for the money I challenge you to beat a PL Montecarlo from early 07. It cant be done. H Upmann should be a good week...
marco polo Posted August 12, 2008 Posted August 12, 2008 I've tried some Delicias and they are ok , a little bland to my taste. I agree on the PL Montecarlo, great cigar for the money :-)

REFERRED TO FONSECA #1 » » Yes, they were » » on the mild side...REFERRED TO COSACAS » » A cigar that does it all... Seriously, with some age Fonsecas are terrific cigars! At least for those who don't have the proverbial Billy Goat palate. :-D
northo Posted August 12, 2008 Posted August 12, 2008 Good smokes imho. But there are other marcas I would go to first for this kind of thing. Hoyos, ERDM, and (especially) Rafael Gonzalez.
