SuperT Posted February 11, 2006 Posted February 11, 2006 I'm back and forth on this one. 3 years ago, I didn't really know one way or the other. I smoked 99%+ NCs and thought that life was grand. I then started buying Cubans and gifting most of my NCs away. I was at about 90-95%+ Cubans and a few NCs. Now I'm about 80% Cuban to 20% NC. I still love the Ashton VSG and I don't find them 1d or simple. They have a lot of things going on while smoking them and I thoroughly enjoy them. They are not a cigar I could smoke every day, but they have their time and place and I can honestly say NOTHING else is quite like 'em (they are extrememly unique to me). For some reason, right now I am enjoying the heck out of Padron 2000 Naturals, and find them fairly complex. I also have been enjoying the CAO Brazilia line, La Unica Cameroons and Padron Fumas have been my golf cigar for a while. Those are the only NCs that I will buy by the box and I doubt I'll buy another CAO Brazilia box as they are doing it less and less for me. I will say, as a whole, Cubans are much more complex, pleasing, etc. When you crave a Cuban, NOTHING else will do! When my mouth is watering for that Cuban 'twang', I'd take a Quintero over a VSG, Padron Anni, etc. Both have a place in my rotation, and great cigars can be found from many countries. Heck, I just discovered Tatuaje cigars and they may be the best NC super premium out there. THAT is what makes this fun and THAT is what keeps me going.
