I was at the final table last night, 4th place out of 6 players and drew a-k offsuit. I called the bb and was in it with only him. Everyone else folded and he checked. Flop comes a-k-q all suited, unfortunatley, not mine but I still had paired my a-k. I go all in and he calls me with a 6 of spades, now he has 4 spades and you guessed it, a spade comes out on the turn and the river is a no help card. I am busted out but somebody who calls me with a stinking 6 of spades!

It wasn't even a high spade!

Question for you, what is your worst bust out story in hold'em?

I have A Q offsuit. Flop comes A 10 2. We both have about the same chip stack so I bet a decent size amount as I know this person makes some loose calls and it is not really a secret that I play pretty tight. As supsected, they call and the turn comes 8 of spades. Now two spades are on the board so I push the rest of my stack in to avoid them getting a cheap look at a flush draw, again they call.

We turn the cards over and they have 2 6 offsuit. I am thinking to myself how in the hell could they have called an all in with bottom pair. Well we all know what is coming, six on the river and as we counted the chips they had one more than me so I was done.

I was smoking a very good Coro that night so I just sat back and enjoyed the rest of my cigar, that helped ease the pain....but not much. This was over two years ago and remember it like it was yesterday but I am not bitter.

My worst was down to the final table in a 150 person tourney.

Flop was A, 5, 2.

Went out all in with A-A, caller had 2-2.

Q on the turn

2 on river

Him 1%
