adamg Posted January 10, 2008 Posted January 10, 2008 I am spending a romantic long weekend in Florence next month. Does anyone know of any good cigar shops/bars? Also, what are the prices like in Italy?

They are not cheap (with the dollar at an all time low!) and I saw lots of what looked like fakes to me. This is only judging by the bands. I'm no expert here. But I would becareful before spending 20 euros for a stick. Also all indoor places are smoke free.

Inside is smoke free since 2004 indeed. Gino should have addresses if you still want them.
Guest Warren Posted January 11, 2008 Posted January 11, 2008 You are going to Italy for a romantic weekend and your only question is where can I get a good cigar. I have some questions. 1. How long have you been married , I'm guessing in excess of 10 years. 2. Are you Bill Clinton ? 3. Are you going by your self? I'm just interested.:-D

Of course top of the priority list will be showing my lovely wife a good time..... However, as a Londoner, I always try to stock up on cigars whenever I'm abroad as our prices are eye watering (£16 for a Monte 2 - roughly $32 US ). So interested to see if Italy is a bit cheaper for the ol cubans (it must be!!!)

I think every country in the world has cheaper cigars than the UK (except Bhutan, where tobacco is illegal).
Mr. Japan Posted January 12, 2008 Posted January 12, 2008 Ciao, sorry for delay in replying, as Claudio says it is not difficult to get cheaper prices outside of England. And I can assure you will not find fakes in Italy. Try these places : SBARDELLA MARCO P.ZZA DELLA REPUBBLICA 24 FIRENZE (ask of Paolo Sbardella); TABACCHERIA RICCHI P.ZZA SANTO SPIRITO 10R FIRENZE (ask of Romano Ferri). NOCENTINI ENRICO VIA CENTO STELLE, 58
n2advnture Posted January 14, 2008 Posted January 14, 2008 Check out the LCDH in Rome (near the Trevi Fountain) I hope this helps ~Mark
Big E Posted January 18, 2008 Posted January 18, 2008 » I am spending a romantic long weekend in Florence next month. Does anyone » know of any good cigar shops/bars? » » Also, what are the prices like in Italy? I was there 12 years ago, including Florence. For the most part I found that except for the sundry shops where you could pick up a three pack of Monte 4's, Partagas, etc. there were no cigar shops except in the airport. I believe this is because the gov't controls the channels of distribution in Italy. Coming from the USA, it was a bummer. BigE
