Spanish cedar is the wood of choice but Spanish Cedar is not really a cedar, it's a Mahogany, so Mahogany will work as well.

Hope this helps

The ideal construction material or lining for humidors is Spanish Cedar (cedrela odorata).  Spanish Cedar is not from Spain but from Brazil and other South American Countries, and is also called South American Cedar and sometimes Cigar Box Cedar.

Cam, in Australia, spanish cedar is sold under the South American Cedar name. BTW Mahogany is not the same as Spanish Cedar, but somewhat similar & has been used for humidors, but not all Mahoganys are suitable.

I made multiple shelves for my wine chillers out of spanish cedar i found here: [link=http://www.internetlumber.com/lumber-products/Humidor-Lining-4-sqft]Internet Lumber[/link]

All I had to do was cut it to shape; it's the perfect thickness for shelves and lining. Good luck!
