jwm8592 Posted August 23, 2007 Posted August 23, 2007 Guys, can those of you that have had either of the above cigars give me a quick review of your thoughts on them. On the Sancho it doesn't have to be that particular year, just looking to get an idea of what these are about. I'm looking to order one or the other, BTW I have a half of box of the JL #1's, leather, cedar, some coffee, a nice somewhat on the mild side smoke IMO. Sort of sounds like some of the reviews I've read on the #2. I'll await some replies.
smokum Posted August 24, 2007 Posted August 24, 2007 I have 02 JL 2's and 03 Molinos. The JL 2's are superior to the 03 Molinos IMO...in fact I have to hide them from myself because once they are gone they are gone forever.Lots of creany smoke with each draw...creamy mouthfeel and full of flavor. Some raisin, cream, and very high quality tobacco flavors is all I am capable of describing. The Molinos are a less complex cigar and very good but I have had a couple with a tight draw. If the 06 JL 2's are anything like the 02's...snap them up...but dont be afraid to go with Molinos either if you can get some with age on them. Either way you can't go wrong. And now you force me to remove another JL2 from the dark recesses of the humidor !:-D
El Presidente Posted August 24, 2007 Posted August 24, 2007 I tend to agree with Smokum. The Molinos are a "softer" smoke with a real floral note. If I could take one Lonsdale with me it would be an aged Molino but box selection is imperative as they stuggle with poor draws particularly prior to 2003.
Sandman Posted August 24, 2007 Posted August 24, 2007 I can honestly say that the 06 batch of JL #2 has been fantastic. To be more specific, I have 2 50 cabs form JUL and they are amazing for the age. I have a hard time leaving them alone.
jwm8592 Posted August 24, 2007 Author Posted August 24, 2007 Ahhh,I was beginning t wonder if I had stumped the panel:-D, thx for the mini review and JL2's it is. I just awoke, luckily I get to go back to bed.
