Just quick question....

Is the Montecristo band always embossed? I've got a box of Edmundos that I picked up, everything looks perfect, but the bands are not embossed like the bands are on the box of Petit Edmundos I have. If you run your finger over the PE bands you can easily feel the raised image, but on the box of Edmundos it is perfectly smooth. I wasn't very concerned before because I also have a box of Monte #2's that have bands just like the Edmundos (from two different vendors). Either there is a lot of inconsistency coming out of Cuba or I have a couple fakes in my humidor. I don't have a lot of experience with Montecristos so I was hoping someone here could help out. THANKS!!

By the way, I'll never order from a different company again. I hate having to worry about authenticity.

» Wow, I guess I should have done some research before I started posting.

» The Edmundos and #2's are both from 05'.

-I really wish they'd go back to the old style (pre '03) bands. There's something classic about them.

-I don't have them right in front of me, so I can't be sure, but I think some of the early '06 production had the unembossed bands on them.

As far as only shopping here, I envision my being kindamostly faithful, but I have to admit to being enough of a tart that a couple of the European ERs might turn my head this year. :-D

Agreed. I'd rather pay an extra 10 bucks for a box that went from Cuba to the regional distributor and from there to the dealer than get grey market cigars intended for another market that have gone back and forth between companies trying to get rid of them and the condition or authenticity of which may be questionable (as evidenced by those shipments of habanos mixed with fake habanos seized in France last year that were going from the Carribean to Hong Kong).

Colt45 has already given the link, but the page has now been updated.

All three bands are now shown and the bands are "click-able" to show a large image.

This is the format that all the band images will shortly have.

The brand logos are already in this format.....click them to enlarge.

Cheers, Trevor.
