gehrig24 Posted May 2, 2007 Posted May 2, 2007 I went to the humidor last night and selected a single to smoke for the evening. It was unbanded (which I do not have many of) and I thought I knew what it was. As I smoked the cigar I realized I was enjoying it a great deal and I needed to know more about this cigar. This is where I need your help. I did not even take measurements but from memory it was around the size of a Partagas Serie du Connaisseur No 2 (may have been one but I have never smoked one to compare). Tasting notes - started out very smooth with heavy coffee/cocoa notes which I love. Dense smoke but not a lot of volume. Developed more spice about half way but maintained the coffee profile. Last third the spice kicked up but not overpowering and the coffee notes were not as prolific. I know this may be very difficult but with the amount of unbanded cigars out there today I was hoping someone could help me find out what this cigar was. I am guessing I got it in a sampler that Rob offered or a trade with a couple members here so I am confident that it is a cigar that does not have a band (or did not when this one was produced). I have had this in the humidor 8-9 months maybe a year. HELP!!
Mark Twain Posted May 2, 2007 Posted May 2, 2007 The spice you described reminds me of the RyJ Cazadore. I find them more woody than coffee flavored. I think a cazadore is 6-3/8 x 44. They also come unbanded.

asmith Posted May 2, 2007 Posted May 2, 2007 » I am guessing this to be a 38-40 ring guage. Rob an I have just had and argument over this and in my younger days I would have let him win. While he is thinking SLR Lonsdale, I'm running with a HDM Des Dieux.
El Presidente Posted May 2, 2007 Posted May 2, 2007 It could be either one. Far be it from me to put Smithy down. However.... he is a crossdressing, mardi gras leading, "batting for both teams"...... idiot.

Colt45 Posted May 3, 2007 Posted May 3, 2007 Amazing. Smithy has posted more since announcing his retirement (wasn't that over two months ago?), than over the two previous years.

I thought we adapted the don't ask, don't tell method around here :-D I think you both may be on to something. I just read the reviews and they sound very close to what I had. Thanks for all the input.

Colt45 Posted May 4, 2007 Posted May 4, 2007 » Colt mate I am just trying to dring the business down from the inside now » that I have quit I'm having a little trouble with your thought process - wouldn't it have been more enterprising to start much earlier in you czar career? Perhaps by now, you'd have been top dog, master of the domain. Besides, while you use the term quit, others have not been so kind - word is, young master Simon has a gold key to the castle........
asmith Posted May 4, 2007 Posted May 4, 2007 word is, young master Simon has a gold key to the castle........ Cause Rob has given him the key... the tax man in circling and Rob doesn't want to be taken down. Poor little Simon isn't to sure about whats happening

I doubt you will do time Smithy as the magistrate will see little punishment in locking you up in a prison full of men. :-D
